Our eleventh grade student, Victor Martir was selected as a representative of the Conservatory of Music along with a group of 7 other young people to represent Puerto Rico in a music-social event sponsored by the Gustavo Dudamel Foundation. The music festival was a part of a tour of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on the American continent. These young people participated in workshops and master classes with the famous guest conductor of the Filarmonica, Gustavo Dudamel and with other conductors from all over America. After these workshops they performed at a concert called “Encuentros” at the Palace of Fine Arts of Mexico, directed by Gustavo Dudamel himself.
“The objective of this event is to unite symbolically North, Central and South America and demonstrate that while barriers are being built and borders are closed, music and youth serve as a bridge and a union between countries.” – said Gustavo Dudamel.
Congrats to Victor Martir for being part of this event and representing Puerto Rico.
